Yes — getting 80% in NIOS Class 12 is achievable, but I would not call it “very easy.” With consistent preparation, it is a realistic target.

For 80%, aim for about 400/500
If you have 5 subjects, an 80% overall score means approximately:
400 marks out of 500
For example:
- English – 80
- Physics – 75
- Chemistry – 78
- Mathematics – 82
- Biology – 85
Total = 400/500 = 80%
You don't necessarily need 80 in every subject.
Best strategy for NIOS 80%
- Complete the NIOS study material first.
- Solve previous-year question papers repeatedly.
- Identify frequently repeated questions and important chapters.
- Practice writing answers within the examination time.
- For science subjects, focus heavily on numericals, diagrams, definitions and derivations where applicable.
- Don't ignore practical/project/assignment marks because they can contribute significantly to your overall score.
- Aim for 85%+ in your preparation/tests so that an exam-day drop doesn't take you below 80%.
My honest assessment: If you are currently around 60–65% level, reaching 80% is quite realistic with focused preparation. If you're starting from a very weak foundation, it will take considerably more work, but it is still possible.
