Step-by-step NIOS admission process
Step 1: Open the official portal
Visit NIOS Online Admission. Select the relevant admission stream and course. The portal currently displays Stream 1, Block 2 – 2027.

Step 2: Fill in your details
Select your state, identity document, course (Secondary or Senior Secondary), and enter your personal and educational information.
Step 3: Upload the required documents
Keep these ready:

Passport-size photograph

Valid identity and date-of-birth proof

Address/residential proof

Previous class marksheet or certificate, as applicable

Category or disability certificate, if applicable
Step 4: Select subjects and pay
Choose your subjects, review your form, and pay the applicable admission fee through the official portal. Save your application and payment receipt.
Step 5: Check admission status
Track your application on the NIOS portal. After confirmation, follow instructions for study materials, assignments, practicals (where applicable), and examinations.
Eligibility for admission

Class 10 (Secondary): Generally, you must be at least 14 years old and meet the prescribed educational requirements.

Class 12 (Senior Secondary): You must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board.
