No. NIOS does not pass every student automatically.
For NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling), students have to meet the required passing criteria in each subject. If a student does not meet the requirements, they may have to reappear in the failed subject(s).
However, NIOS can be quite manageable if you prepare properly because:
- The syllabus and exam pattern are predictable.
- Previous-year questions are useful for preparation.
- You can use Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) where applicable.
- NIOS provides opportunities to reappear/improve through its examination system.
If your target is 80%
Yes, 80% in NIOS Class 12 is achievable, but it requires substantially better preparation than simply aiming to pass. A good strategy is to target around 85–90% in your preparation/tests so that you have a margin for the final examination.
