Yes, IITs do accept improvement marks in one or more subjects for eligibility to JEE Advanced.
Certain conditions are met:
-
Subject and Year Requirements: The improved marks must be from the same board, and they should be from an improvement exam taken in the same year or within the eligibility time frame as specified by JEE Advanced (usually within the last two years).
-
Final Marks Considered: If you appear for an improvement exam in one subject, your best performance in that subject (original or improved) will generally be considered for calculating your aggregate percentage, provided it meets the JEE Advanced minimum eligibility criteria.
-
JEE Advanced Aggregate Eligibility: You need to satisfy the minimum aggregate score requirement in your Class 12 exams, as specified by JEE Advanced for your category. This minimum aggregate score can include the improved subject marks if they raise your overall score.
Be sure to check the official JEE Advanced brochure each year, as specific guidelines for improvement exams may change.
