Qualifying JEE Main: Improvement students must qualify for JEE Main and rank among the top candidates as specified by the cutoff for JEE Advanced eligibility.

Year of Attempt: You can appear for JEE Advanced only in the two consecutive years after completing your Class 12 (or equivalent) exam for the first time. For example, if you first took the Class 12 exam in 2023, you are eligible for JEE Advanced in 2023 and 2024 only.

Minimum Marks Requirement: Improvement students must meet the minimum percentage or percentile criteria for their respective categories in their Class 12 board exams, as stipulated by JEE Advanced. If your original score didn’t meet this requirement, your improvement exam marks can be used to fulfill it.

Using Improvement Marks: If you take the improvement exam in all five subjects, JEE Advanced considers the latest mark sheet (the improvement mark sheet) for eligibility. If you take the improvement exam in only a few subjects, the latest marks in those subjects, along with the original marks in the rest, will be considered.

Documentation: You may need to submit both the original and improvement mark sheets during counseling or document verification to validate your eligibility.
By meeting these criteria, improvement students can successfully qualify for and appear in JEE Advanced.
